How far in advance should I set up payments?
Payment processing takes 3 to 5 working days. The main variable in processing time is whether the payee (your merchant) accepts electronic bill payment or requires a physical check. We recommend that you take this into consideration when setting your payment's processing date. A good rule of thumb is to set your processing date at least 5 business day in advance of the actual due date that appears on your bill. You can always adjust this time period later as you observe how quickly each payee posts your payment to your account.

What happens if I do not have funds in my account when a scheduled payment is processed?
If there are non-sufficient funds, the payment will be returned. This will prompt our system to block your checking account preventing you from making more payments until the NSF is resolved. Any future-dated payments scheduled for release during the time your account is blocked will not be sent. Please keep in mind that using our Online Bill Payment Service is just like writing a check. You must have a sufficient available balance in your account otherwise normal overdraft procedures will be put into effect and charges will be assessed.

Payments can be canceled only when they are found on the Pending Payments screen. Once the payment has been processed and the amount is debited from your account, the transaction can be seen on the Bill Payment History screen.
